I am primarily a drawer, working with fine lines and shading. Traditional methods of printmaking suit my style of drawing very well. The more I make traditional prints, the more I think about how it is different from other media. I have started to think of prints as evidence of an object or an artifact from the past that exists outside of the paper’s surface. This way of thinking about the print as an object has led me to collecting things in the world that can be printed or are already a print, such as fossils in a washed out riverbank or graffiti carved into a table.
